This beer is named after a good friend’s stepfather. I designed this beer to match how he described what he remembered as a traditional Scotch Ale. Being that Ron is as Scottish as it gets, Ron’s Ale is full of malt forward caramel flavor. Don’t worry about bitter hops in this beer; it’s all about the malt. I’m able to create some unique complexity by using higher boiling temperatures for extended periods to caramelize the sugars in the wort.
